Wooden Victorian Mantels
The Mid Victorian period saw the introduction of the breakfront shelf and larger more elongated corbels became common on mantels.
PLEASE NOTE that these photographs do not show the exact colour shade of the mantels.
If customers require a specific colour it is better to choose an unwaxed finish that we can stain and wax to any supplied colour sample.

"The Ashleigh" Wooden Mantel has a breakfront frieze, half round fluted columns topped by corinthian capitals and patera with floral decoration. There is egg and dart decoration below the shelf, a thin reeded area below the plain frieze and leaf detail around the opening.

"The Chiswick" Wooden Fire Surround has a plain shelf with extrememly elongated corbels. It has an arched opening with spandrels conatining fan and leaf decoration. It has fluted legs with rosette detailing and chafered block feet. There is a keystone with leaf detail at the apex of the arch.
